Great that you are getting out there and snapping away – I just feel these are a little random – at first I thought “great “”- a series about all the religious staues in the area – great idea! ” .. and then the story shifted.. so I personally don’t get the message in them (sorry !!)
.. my last niggle would be that the light here in many of your images is very harsh, – I do understand that in the city you will almost always be dealing with shadow – but it does help if you have a softer shadow with warmer less blinding light – try evening or arly morning – or slightly overcast days
Re thematic issues, on the one hand I don’t see that there has to be a theme, on the other hand a series on religous statues is an excellent idea so thanks for that…..God knows there’s plenty of them in the area.
Re the light…..fair point. It looks harsh in the second one (actually thats why I cropped it). Although on the other hand, these were all taken before 9.00am when the light should be fairly soft, but there ya go, it must be my technique (he said ironically)…. :-)
I’m not so sure about the light issue, to be honest, i’m a big appreciater of photos that make use of light and i thought when i saw the second one that the ray of light at the top gave the picture a certain dimension, i like it alot actually. I think it might look a bit flat if the light were homogenous through the pic, just my own opinion though!
