Hi All:
Im sure this question has been asked to death, but as technology, speed, modems etc keep changing aswell as PRICE PLANS  , what is the best service or offer tha I can use in the 26 Counties as thats where I do most of my work at pitchside. I was talking to a guy from one of the agencies yesteday whilst covering a soccer game in Galway. He mentioned that Vodafone had a new system out that was faster than 3G, which included a dongle and a sim card!. Admittadly not knowing too much about it, he did show the said dongle with the Sim Card inside it.
Anyways can anyone recommend the best Value for money service, as I am with no agency, not forgetting Coverage! It would need to be Republic based due to the roaming charges that would be applied if I took a contract here in Derry!
Cheers
stcstcMemberi have a three dongle broadband. nice thing is its a pay per use thing, so if your not using it you dont top it up
also when i am in the uk, if i use the 3 network there are no roaming charges
CianMcLiamParticipantI have an O2 dongle and sim and where it does pick up 3G it’s very fast on download, a pig on upload. Outside 3G areas it’s sort of halfway between dial-up and ISDN. I find O2 coverage much better than Vodafone and I’ve used mine country-wide. Costs me 20 euro per month, 20 for the dongle thing, with a 12 month contract. They have a 10GB limit but to be honest I don’t think they check it regularly.
emjayParticipantI use 3Ireland dongle -monthly pay
€49 euro for the dongle and simm card and 19.99 euro per month for 10Gig download /upload per month
Usable in Northern Ireland and rest of Britain without roaming charges.Because it is usable in north and south without roaming it might just be what you are looking for

mciParticipantThanks for the replies folks. It looks like the 3 dongle may well suit me due to no roaming charges!
