Not posted or been on the forums for what seems a long time so im returning with a pic from the summer.
Id like some critique on this particular image before I send it of to the lab for a large print, hoping to use this shortly in my camera clubs exhibition.
Cheers Gareth
SodafarlMemberGareth don’t know about critiique but this picture is superb I love the detail in the Bee but in particular the petals of the flower.
Should make a brilliant print.soda
Alan RossiterParticipantPrint it, print it large and print it many times. Then put a price tag on it and watch it rolling in.
The petals in the background that focus in on the bee, the detail, the consistency is just fantastic. After a while macro shots of ants, bees, wasps, etc get boring but then one like this comes along. Great stuff.
Alan.
lousyParticipantkensutzParticipantpihjinMemberThis is amazing… the eye is captured perfectly…
I love the shine in it.What lens did you use for it?
scotty38886MemberMikkaParticipantNo critique to add Gareth, this is perfect as is and is going to look even better when printed large……Mikka
jqmx0Participantchrisa380ParticipantCan I say as a complete novice i am gobsmacked, I like macro but this is the dogs……….. what lens did you use,
Cheers,

deeorganParticipantsharnahwsMemberRobMemberExcellent macro Gareth, well up to your usual standard. The depth of field must
be only a millimeter or two, astonishing…But seeing as you wanted some critique, you have a small dust bunny in the bottom
left corner; I’d clone that out before you print ;)Rob.
vividimagesMemberRob thanks for the comment, all i can say really is you either have fantastic eye sight or you looked at the image for more than 30 seconds to spot that bloody bunny.
It’s funny that when editing pics, things like that seem to get missed even when looking for them, im glad you spotted it cause I didnt. For those that asked which lens I used it was the sigma 150mm macro and sigma 1.4tc.
The image is actually an hdr, which is something most people think is used mainly on landscapes, but in the macro world the xtra detail that can be pulled out sometimes is amazing. Thanks to all for the comments, the image is now in the hands of the lab for a 20×30 inch print minus the dust bunny.
