Would have to see it much larger to make a fair assessment.

you’d really need to post the camera settings for it to get a detailed critique.

on the photo it self. I like the composition, but the background (the bottom of you’re stairs) is a bad choice in my own opinion. The focus seems pretty good on the subject but even still the background and the DOF chosen dosent work at all for me.
Although the colours compliment each other i find it dosent have a big impact on me. You might take it somewhere else (the object) and compose it in the surroundings that would work better.
Or just use a shallower DOF to completly blur the background.

cheers for that grif, i might try a few more with the gremlin and
see what comes out. i can see what you’re saying about the background etc.
its not doing anything at all really

Why don’t you try putting it lying down on the carpet and shoot down on it? Not sure if it would work but the colour of the carpet would compliment the colour of the gremlin (I think :) )

I think it would look good sitting in long grass, keeping the same
low perspective……….on this shot I would crop the right side so
that the stair isnt in it, increase the contrast a tad and maybe a
    little sharpening, colours are nice.
