County Meath View….

Went on a recci to this place on Saturday morning. Serious potential and possibly one of the most
beautiful parts of county Meath that I have visited (waiting to be flamed  )… Between Slane
and Navan on the river… beside Stackallen… sort off:
I think Martin might have posted images from this place before…?? Anyway not great images but
ye can see seriously potential in the place with the right light and probably a lower perspective.Richie
SteveDParticipantIt does look like a fantastic place Richie. It is nice to see you used the wide-angle and the telephoto to capture the scene.
I think the ND grad in the 2nd image was a bit stronger than required. It might be worth darkening the foreground, or brightening the sky a little.
richiehatchMemberYeah I agree Steve… the sky is a wee bit strong in that one… used the Lee 3 stop but it probably didnt need it…! There not really what I would call “finished” shots. It was more of an investigative morning…! Definitely better angles and better light would improve the overall scene. Access is relatively easy too so hopefully within the next few months something decent will come of this location!

You better be quick, there may be a group coming down from the North!
Did you use the 300mm for 1 and 3?
richiehatchMemberYee feckers have enough to be shootin up there…. leave us Mexicans alone…!
The first is with the 17-40… probably at 40mm…. second same lens at 17 and the third with the 85mmf1.2…!!!!
300mm is gone due to lack of use. At some stage I will replace it with something more versatile but probably not as good…!

pauloconParticipantLovely shots there.
Is that down a lane to the left a couple of miles before Navan?
Spent quite a bit of time down there when I was young as I’d cousins lived down that way.
If it’s the same place, that’s Dunmoe Castle to the right, you can climb the hill right up to it.You’ve brought back some memories there!
richiehatchMemberossie13ParticipantRitchie……….looks like a good spot for a PI get together???????????????
Steve
RobMemberLovely spot Richie – you might bump into me walking along there too…
It’s along a walk called The Ramparts, which runs mostly unbroken the entire way
along the Boyne and Boyne Canal from Navan via Slane and on again to
Drogheda. Definitely a good idea for a PI meetup. Count me in if you’re thinking
of organising one…Rob.
MartinParticipantVery nice Richie, This is a regular spot of mine. The car park where you took this shot has a nice Grave yard with an old ruin in it. (presume your very near the car park) Really nice location. Have been trying out some Efke Infrared film in the past month so have been around here a good few times recently
