Some Low-fi digital shots
-
AlfamaleParticipant
Not sure whether camera phone images really count as low-fi as you generally end up with pixelated images rather than Holga-esque dreamy ones. However … I have started leaving my bulky film gear at home on some recent trips and using my Nokia N95 camera phone instead and am quite pleased with some of the results. I am counting it as low-fi as although the chip is decent quality, the equipment is quite basic: fixed wide-angle lens, fixed aperture …
Some of my better results follow …

AlfamaleParticipantAlfamaleParticipantAlfamaleParticipantAlfamaleParticipantAlfamaleParticipantAlfamaleParticipantIt seems that websense or similar software is blocking display of these images from some work locations … sorry about that … I did post images honest! Imagine how great they’d look if you could actually see them … :)
DeeboParticipantSeem a good article/pic in one of this months photo mags and the shot was a merged image of 2 taken on a camera phone and it looks great. Even stitched.
Another good reason to carry a camera at all times.
Last 2 shots in the thread are my faves, esp the red phone boothDee
AlfamaleParticipantThanks for the feedback Deebo. The phone booth is outside the V&A Museum in London and the final one is of a scultpure inside the entrance.
Looking at all the low-fi shots in here taken on Holgas, I think that’s going to have to be my next purchase!

DenverDollParticipantAmazed that these were taken on the phone. I have the hardest time focusing my eye to get a decent shot that way. For me its always *cringe squint and pray* and still mostly garbage everytime.
Well done~~ I am impressed..would love to see some of your other work from other cameras as well Alfa!
Sharon
AlfamaleParticipantSharon – thanks very much – always a bit nerve-wracking posting stuff for comment … :)
As for other photos, I will certainly have a look through and see if there’s anything else worth posting although “work” might be a slightly grand title … :)

AlfamaleParticipantAnd another camera phone shot, this one taken on Sunday at the Ballincollig Vintage Show. The image has been cropped and saturated a small bit but is otherwise as taken. Let me know what you think!
MarkKeymasterAlfamaleParticipantCheers, Mark! Oh yeah, super car. The Ballincollig Vintage Show’s actually better than it sounds for classic cars – the trick is being able to get photos without background clutter …
aoluainParticipantyes nice images from a basic camera phone – i hear the new Nokia N8 with the 10mp camera is very very good!
