Namibia Camping trip

Hi,
I’m just back from a camping trip around Namibia. I’ll put the nature / wildlife images in that forum, but I’ve a few that would go better here.

3. Himba woman in the heat of the afternoon sun. She was handling it better than me!
first one .. guessing its a night shot .. I feelt he middle layer of sand interferes a little .. can’t quite pt my finger on it
The second one – Holy Moly – very very scary and impressive .. camping = tent = pole = lightning rod !! :shock: – anyway – thats wow !
and I just love it.. she looks like she could kick six shades of Sh*t out of you for pointing a camera at her , maybe the heat was getting ot her .. there are a few distracting highlights you could burn down a little – but I really like it ;)

#1 is early morning, an beating the heck out of a polarizing filter as I was looking for that sky color. I’ve played around with more and less foreground, I like loads of it, but the first little bit of this is out of focus, I think that’s what’s wrong.
#2 yes, holy moly! That night we were in a house, but we hads loads of camping nights with lightening.
#3 yes, I’ll bet she could kick seven shades of it out of me, but a second later I got a great smile. There was almost no shade to bring anyone to, even if you could make them understand as they did’nt speak english, so they all got a gently touch of fill flash and hope for the best. I’ve a few more similar, even one where she smiles :-)

This little girl took a major shine to Sarah’s sunglasses, she managed to keep them though. However her “rogue” stetson is now the proud posession of a himba guy who traded it for a “sexy bitch” pink peaked baseball cap.

Cool Photos, Namibia has been a place I really want to go to for a long time.
Number one a bit less foreground and a bit more sky might work better, but none-the-less 4 great photos.
Well exposed, I guess the light must be very strong there for most of the day.Martin
