Compatible batteries

    Hi
I’m looking to get a spare battery for a compact (Canon Ixus 75).
    £30 for a Canon or £3.99 for a Compatible on 7dayshop.

Has anyone bought a compatible before? Are they to be avoided?
    Thanks

i use 7dayshop compatibles with my slr camera and they are fine

they are so cheap that if they fail after 6 months through them in the bin and buy a new one

agree with Steve, I would buy two from 7dayshop and still be
quids in! I use them with no problems and the only difference
would may be a very slightly shorter use time before it needs
    recharging.

I used compatible batteries for my Canon from 7dayshop – they worked fine for a few months, and then failed.
    However, they were cheap.

My current ones come from http://sterlingtek.com/ and seem to be closer to the Canon ones in terms of quality.

    Thanks for the replies folks.

I’ve been using a Hahnel battery in my 350D that I bought from Warehouse Express if I remember correctly. For me they fit in the happy middle ground price wise and provide a similar capacity and usage time to the Canon battery. Nearly two years in and its still going as strong as the Canon battery that came with it so I would definitely recommend them.
