Hey guys have been commenting on other peoples stuff so I said i better post something myself in the interest of ettiquet. Taken in Kilkee a few weeks ago in the rain and wind had to hold the legs of the tripod with both hands and fire the shutter with the 10 sec timer to try chatch the waves peaking while making sure the lens was dry….. fun and games I can tell you. Feel free to comment

That’s great John, you’ve really captured the storm there. Really gives the feeling that you’re actually in the thick of it.
A few little splashes, but it probably adds to the athmosphere.

    Great photo…. very dramatic!!!!
It’s pity that the steps are there…. I personally don’t like in landscapes and seascapes anything what wasn’t created by nature…..

Very nice shot John, well worth the effort. Certainly conveys the power of the storm, I’m with Robert with regard to the steps. You never know, a few more storm like that and there might not be any steps.

I’ll go along with that John, I’d be very happy with what you’ve got, but we’ve all different tastes.

That’s a fantastic shot John. The steps are very important to the image, and work very well here. I think the lifebelt also adds to it in the context (though I always have a soft spot for them – probably due to primary colours against blue skies). The one thing is you need a slight clockwise rotation, as the horizon’s dipping a bit on the left (though it might also be down to barrel distortion on the lens)

Very fine shot. Full of drama. The only thing that slightly bugs me is the life-belt holder – I find my eyes being drawn to it and thus it lessens the drama of the overall scene somewhat. (I am nitpicking big-time here). On occasions like this I find the inclusion of a chainsaw in one’s gadget bag to be invaluable. I take it that you have yet to add one to your equipment list.
