Boatstrand Co Waterford this morning
-
JMcLParticipant
As 2008 draws to a close, I’m finally starting to make good (or at least a little bit better) on my new years resolution to try to catch more sunrises. Here’re a few from this morning along the Waterford coast.

snaphappyMemberhey john all three are super shots love the dynamic feeling of movement in 2 and the lighting in the 3rd is excellent love all three
snaphappyMemberdamn yee east coasters yee get sunrises on the coast in the morning at the weekends and whatever hope I have of getting me up out of bed early in the morning try keeping me out of the pubs at sunset at the weekend lol
paul donohoeParticipantgreat stuff, its shots like this I need to get myself out of bed that bit earlier.
SeaviewParticipantVery nice shots John, really like the colours of number three and the composition of number one. Mix the two and you would have had an awesome shot. Certainly worth the early rise.
Dave.
KWBarbsParticipantThese are excellent, but the colours and light in the 3rd make it stand out for me.
MallachtParticipantJMcLParticipantThanks all!

Hee.. even better John, it’s on the south coast so I can come back a few hours later and get a sunset :) (though to be accurate, if the tide’s out for one, it’ll generally be up for the other in winter). The downside to all this is that with all those cliffs, come march, you can largely forget about both until September and just have to hand over the baton to the lads up north. Ye lads in the west of course have sunsets year round!
John
carrigmanParticipantMartinParticipant3 nice shots. No 2 would be my favorite, just think the composition is strongest in it.
Like the colours in these also as they look honest and natural
M
nkeeganParticipantI really like No2 as well – the composition is spot on.
Well done-
NicolarichiehatchMemberJMcLParticipantThanks all. I’m growing into the second one as time goes by. I had a niggling worry initially that it was a bit unbalanced, but glad ye like it!
John
andy mcinroyParticipantHi John,
I like the 3rd with the fine sidelighting on the foreground.
The recession of the headlands into the glowing distance is also beautiful.
Hope to catch up with you next year. Let me know when you’re in Donegal again.
Andy
JMcLParticipantCheers Andy,
I’ll give you a shout when I’m next up. I’ll be up sometime between Christmas and new year, though it’ll probably be a flying visit
