Hi Jess,
I like your b&w comversions, nice tones.
in the first image, she is in focus, not him which does’nt look right to my eye as he is the main subject in the photo.
In the last one, I’d crop her out as he is a very moody shot, and it’s worth keeping him as the only focal interest in the shot.
Just my opinions of course! :-)

I’d suggest clone instead of crop, to retain the long beam as it’s quite effective (negative space).
Hi guys, thanks for the replies.
I do the conversion in LR, try to keep the tones kinda warm, and then add the tone in PS by using the colour balance sliders. (add a bit of blue and magenta). I used the spot meter too, but I still get blown highlights. They might not be sharp enough for some either.
I agree, the focus in the first is a bit confusing. And I’d agree about the last too. I had previously got something like what you both suggested from an earlier gig (below) but was just trying something different.
