I like the idea with the lead in, and the cars , but it is out of focus/soft. I take it you hand held this shot.

you should make sure you are getting the same shutter speed as the focal lenght , eg 70mm lense= 70th of a sec. If you are not getting the speed you need, boost the iso,

Thanks Sean. Yes it may look a bit out of focus. It was handheld. The focal length is shorter than shutter speed, see below. Would shorter shutter speed have looked better then?

    Focal Length: 55mm
    Exposure Mode: Manual
    Metering Mode: Multi-Pattern
    1/100 sec – F/5.6
    Exposure Comp.: 0 EV
    Sensitivity: ISO 200

To be honest it should have been sharp to 50th of a sec or so. The only thing it could be is…….it was not focused properly when you released the shutter. You must have had it on manual focus by the look of the exif…….you should shoot on C or S.

    What camera are you using?

    Sean.

Well I would normally estimate 1/60 as a limit for handheld.

I have a Nikon D40. C or S does not correspond to my camera.

I don’t think the focus was on manual, only the exposure. But not to worry, maybe I just didn’t focus on the right thing.

    Thank you :D

    Hi,

It looks like the lens was focused on the area of
footpath just before the BMW to the right and with
an F# 5.6 you ended up with a very shallow
    depth of field.

This is actually ok for this type of shot but as there
is nothing in the foreground the whole scene looks out
    of focus.

It is actually quite an ok shot, could have been better if
the left hand side was cropped out and there was something
in the foreground like a person!

    Alan
