Recent Shots .. c&c welcomed … Blessington etc.

Hi all,
I’ was out and about thru December and Jan and managd to catch a few shots … c&c is welcomed …
Blessington Lakes …
this is a HDR from 5 shots … I like the light but there’s something funny going on in the sky …
Corkaigh Park …
and one from earlier in the year …
Lough Lene ( a favourite haunt of mine)…
any advice for improvements in any way is much appreciated …

I love the last two. The last one in particular is excellent. What did it look like in colour?
Lovely shots. I think what’s “wrong” with the HDR shot is that the reflection of the sky is brighter than the sky itself, which is somewhat against the laws of physics :-) Apart from that, nice restrained use of HDR.

Twas nice in colour alright, but the light was a wee bit harsh … the BW just has a softer feel to it :-)

i love the last shot. it reminds me slightly of a photograph by michael levin called zebrato.

I can see what you mean …mind you, it’ll be some time before I can take a shot that good…

last image is superbYea, it really is a great spot … I’m working nights this weekend so I’ll probably head up after work on Sat or Sun morning ..fingers crossed for some nice light :-)

Great shots, but the last one impresses for me, Im just wondering if a little bit of selective cropping would enhance, im thinking the water in both bottom corners is a little distracting.

Have to agree with mgst . . .
My favourite being the second last onr though, for a HDR it is perfect.
not OTT at all, no halo’s just a nicely exposed pic, the foreground is
really nice and the colours overall are nice and PASTELLY ! :lol:I really like the colours in the second one with the lead in line along the shore to the trees, great.
The last one is super too, the human interest makes it stand out.
On the flipside, I find the first a bit dark to hold the interest, the thirds Ok (I think MikeL nailed it with the reflection comment) and #4 I find a bit mundane, there’s definitely a good picture in the subject, I just don’t think this is it.

Thanks Mick … the second last is in Corkaigh Park in Clondalkin, it’s a fishing lake … I’d been there numberous times but couldn’t get the shot … I was delighted the weather co-operated that morning …

Cheers Puisno … I’ve tried a few different crops on that one … somehow the “dynamic” of the shot worked best with the original none … the child kinda lost against the threatening sky … if you know what I mean :? :? …
