Mick451ParticipantBMParticipant
Will need a couple of visits. For now:
1. See my children graduate
2. Climb the Via Ferrata
3. Tour New Zealand
4. Learn to sail
5. Not out-live my wifeWas going to add – Have the photographic skills to justify the purchase of a digital Hassselblad – and win enough money to do so! – but that doesn’t fall into the “realsitic” category.
Good one Mick.
Edit:
6. Learn to play the violin again
7. Be the subject of (or be the MD of a company that is the subject of) a dissertation/study from a reputable business school.
8. Hold a grandchild in my arms
9. Make sure there the tax man gets none of my estateI read others’ contributions about out-living children or grandchildren. To be fair, my kids (and hence probably my grandchildren) will live much more healthy lives than me (thanks to their mother), so this is probably a given.
Edit:
10. Travel: Been to Asia, North America, Europe and Africa. That leaves Antartica, Australasia and South America (had to split America to get it to fit into my own head!) – but there are lots of countries I haven’t seen in the continents I’ve been to, e.g. Russia and South Africa, Sweden, Iceland, China, Singapore … But I can’t put a limit or definition to this one – in terms of how it could be completed – probably never will be.
plainoldmeMember1. bungee jump
2. hold my own exhibition
3. get some kind of photography qualification
4. learn to drive
5. go to asia (specifically china, japan, and indonesia)
6. go to australia
7. go to the states, buy a cheap car, do a road trip right across the country down route 66, scrap the car at the end then fly back home (current ambition for 2011!!)
8. make amends with lost friends
9. learn to play drums
10. make sure iv visited every county in ireland at least once because so far i haventhaha 8)
PeteTheBlokeMemberI’m going to get a bit philosophical. I don’t believe I’ll know what I did
or didn’t do once I’m dead, so I think I should be happy with the things
I do now, just in case I’m dead tomorrow. I think. If you want something to happen, REALLY want it to happen, then you have
to make it happen. People say they want to be rich, but the people I’ve met
who really want to be rich channel all their efforts into making money. Most
people aren’t prepared to do that. For what it’s worth, here’s a the start of my list:
1. Die before my children (taking note of BM’s answers above)
2. Read more booksaoluainParticipantVery Philosophical indeed, one we should all
take note of I think. My list will take some time to think about
but I will kick off with. . .1) Travel, while trying to hold down a full time permanent job travel to at least one new country every year, and maybe re-visit some favourite one too!
2) Friends, Manage to meet up with close friends at least once a year for a weekend of Trad music, and havin the craic.
cathaldParticipantJust a couple to start with for me
1.Walk my daughter up the aisle on her wedding day (hopefully not for another 15-20 years)
2.Get back into work as I was made redundant in April and not much work about(but I’m enjoying the time with family)lousyParticipantOnly one really, and when I read BM’s post it struck home to me.
#1. Not to out live my wife or children/grandchildren.

PeteTheBlokeMemberAlan RossiterParticipantThere’s times when you want to take your foot off the pedal of life and enjoy the freewheel but all too often the burdons of bills, mortgages, job stability, etc just drag you back into reality again. All these taken out of the loop and the obvious ones above re not outliving your offspring I’d:
Like to stand at the foot of a pyramid
Do something, anything, that when you are gone people would say “Do you remember him?”
Learn a second language because I want to, not because it meant the difference in getting a job after school
Understand what happened shortly after the “Big Bang” – astrophysics, not credit-crunch.Alan.
PS – the other six will come a the latter end of life
TebbiMember1. Get married to my guy :$
2. Get a degree
3. See asia
4. Overcome health issues impairing me currently
5. Help somebody that REALLY needs it
6. Have a child
7. See my child’s wedding
8. Learn to drive
9. Teach my kid/s to swim/ride a bike
10. Be able to continue doing parkour for as long as possibleGranted i’m only 15, so i have quite a long time to complete this! :P
justaguyParticipantTo be honest Illl be content with what I have done so far.
But.
Going to another continent (Any of them)
Become a grand dad ( But I don’t know how to do that myself, it probably involves throwing my son on top of his wife to be)
Bring the upbringing of my second son to a good end
Make peace with everybody I ever crossedAnd Alan, What about a 4 in a row
justaguyParticipantBy the way.
What a dragon of a movie was that.
2 actors of that status and what a dissapointmentlousyParticipantPeteTheBloke wrote:

Class
4 in a row, we would want to start at 6 in the evening!
RobMemberToo many things to contemplate really, difficult to choose or prioritise.
I’d like to outlive as many people as possible, a selfish wish that probably won’t ever
come true because I don’t really look after myself…I’d like to make a road trip across the European continent, spend a Christmas in Moscow,
and dent my car on the Great Wall of China before turning around and driving home again…I want to learn to draw…
I want to learn how to bake decent bread…
Rob.
