nice shots, b+w works well. Looks like ye had more snow than we had last year.
Just wondering if you were using a compact or slr, I’m off next week and i’m thinking the compact might be the safest option.Paul

The pano captures a wonderful mood. just the bad stitch of the electricity cables drives me crazy ( ;

Rocket man, I brought my slr up to the slopes as it’s my third time going I felt pretty confident that I wouldn’t be falling around the place. Kept on the blue slopes and a couple of the reds and stuck it in an over the shoulder waterproof “Crumpler” camera bag. Worked very well. Best snow they said for the past three years and it showed. It was great.
The pano was taken with my N95 as I didn’t have my slr that day. Madeline don’t suppose you could point out the bad stitching points as I’m at a bit of a loss to find it.

The bad stitch that Madeline was referring to can be seen if you look at the square sign plate on the fence on the right side of the shot. If you look just above the sign to the right you can see the stitch on the top of the netting that makes up the fence and if you follow upwards you can see it on the cables running down from the tower.

Brave man bringing your SLR, you got some lovely sots. How did you handle temp differences with bring your lenses and SLR in and out of the cold?

Didn’t try doing too much skiing (i.e. black slopes) when I had my slr with me thus minimising the potential for an accident.
Usually didn’t start taking shots until well into the afternoon leaving the camera and lens a chance to acclimatise to the cold. Seemed to work ok, but didn’t give it too much thought after that.
Thanks for pointing that out for me, gonna try something with that.

it happens us all the time. Whenever i finish a panorama i put my scan glasses on ( ;
