Haven’t posted in a while, have been out practising :) Just wondering about this one, I like the colours and the clouds but not too sure about the horizon. What do you think? C&C, as always, welcome.
Thanks,
JanineMadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantColours: I am not sure about the cyan-magenta sky colours – but maybe it was your goal to create a manipulated colour mood
Structure: many landscape photoraphs get beautiful because of the structure composition, a dominant beauty of one structure…. it is quit busy here, the eyes can’T rest and are not guided
Brightness: it seems a little bit underexpossed, some ps adjustments would make it more interesting – very grainy as well —->tripod
suggestion: wide angle, go down on your knees, fill the front of the image with the beatufiul sand structure and the rest is filled with sky and horizon/sea….just a suggestion
Cheers
Madeleine (try out)carrigmanParticipantI agree with Madeline’s comments plus I think the horizon is not quite straight.
GenieParticipantThanks Madeline and John for the comments. I did use a tripod for this picture Madeline and a timer, could you, or anyone, advise why its still grainy? I do like the colours, maybe not too everyones taste though. I see what you mean about being busy though. I really appreciate the help and tips, thanks.

alancotterParticipantFor this shot i would have focused my attention to that wonderful sand structure you’ve got there to just above the mountains on the horizon.. When i first laid my eyes on this, that was the first thing that came to mind!
It could be grainy due to whatever color adjusting you may have done in post editing..
take care,
AlanMadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantGrainy: for all landscape images…try to use 100 or 50 ISO. If not possible because of movements of water, sky….adapted the iso…try not to go higher than 400. Sometimes it could be a nice effect to take images with 400-3200 ISO.
