Rainbow, Storm and Carrauntuohill / Carrauntoohil

  • Alan started this rainbow thread. So i made a wish and nature surprised yesterday. There was a big storm passing and left the rainbow for few seconds. My poor car was suffering because of this massiv hail shower. I was waiting in the car and let it pass. The clouds needed about 20 min to arrive at Carrauntuohill but it fullfilled my expectation. Those are moments where i knee down infront of nature.

Hi Madeleine. I have to admit that sometimes I find some of your images very similar to look at so can get a little bored as there is nothing different in them but this is exceptional. It has everything you could wish for in a photo. Really outstanding and I wish it was mine.

Very nice Madeleine, certainly worth waiting for. The rainbow finishes off an already stunning image.

Superb shot and makes me want to climb those mountains to get the same views
    Well done
    Dee

Alan: Thank you, thats a HDR

Ballyman: my main motivation and focus is the ever changing light of a landscape. i visit the same place often because i am so fascinated how light presents the same mountains in such a different dimension. i can’t get borred of it because the uniqueness and the individual beauty of nature is for me the opposit of boring ( ; Thank you for the copliment

Dave: Yes it was so boring in the car because you never know “will it work or not”. 10% of awaited image composition turn out fantastic. ( :

Dee: Thanks Dee, i have to overcome my climb lazyness. I am sure on the top of hills and mountains are waiting other breathtaking views.

Stunning atmospheric image. How many separate shots did you take to produce the final HDR image, Madeline, or did you just use a single RAW at different settings?

Thank you Hauke, Barbs ( ; and John – a blessed moment.

John: I decided to choose HDR because the light situation was very difficult but stunning. i used just 3 seperate shots because i zoomed in. to break it into 7 could be trouble because of minimovements. I used Photomatix, not fusion, the hdr tool. it took A LOT OF time and patience to take care of the pixels.

    Cheers
    Madeleine
