    that’s him alright-

I have a similar picture taken on the other side of the lough more than thirty years ago-
it doesn’t have the snow, but it does have the farmer’s wife sitting in the box on the back…

    Unfortunately, in storage now-

    Thanks everyone!

jb7~~I’d love to go back and see it without the snow….you should dig that shot out of storage..it sounds precious.

Graham~~thanks..am looking forward to seeing yours when you get them back.

lousy~~thank you Pat. He was charming…it took me back years and years.

jessthespringer~~yeah he surely didn’t know what to make of us all…I am still trying to determine where he came from. No one miles around, and then suddenly there is the farmer, pitchfork in hand, stabbing madly at the snow in front of the wheels working to free us city folk from certain snowbound peril. :)

mgst~~thanks so much Mick! It was an adventure for sure. By my standard a day to walk to school in, but without snow tires it was treacherous!

That’s a brilliant photo, Sharon, love it!

Guys what is happening. Here is a Mournes Image Explosion. Are you all living there or was it a group trip.

    Randomway~~thanks Zoltan..ahem..there was a rumour that you were there..but I don’t believe it because I sure didn’t see you!

Madeleine~~a whole bunch of us went up there for there for the weekend. It was brilliant. There were only four ladies to the twenty or so men. We could use a bigger contingent next time! I’ll make sure you’re informed when a trip gets planned.

Rob~~hey thanks..I’ve been a bit melancholy all morning…just a distant memory at this point. All passed by so fast! And as usual..I spose I slept through a good deal of the fun~~~

ossie13~~thank you Steve  yep…after he quietly toiled in the snow and almost broke his back..he just as quietly toddled off into the hills in his little tractor.

I got an important phone call and had to leave early ;) (that’s the official version anyways)

I am not the winter trekker type of guy to be honest. I like to sit down or lie down every once in a while, have a nap at midday after lunch – in the grass, under a shadowy tree… with the wind playing it’s melody on the leaves above my head… but it’s not much fun in the snow. I should have taken photos of the extraordinary farmyards people are building there with the snowy mountains in the background or farmers disappearing in the setting sun with their tractors Texas style… I would have had energy left for being social. Mea culpa.
