have heard people say that for high contrast sky/foreground in landscapes, ya should try HDR. Can anyone please tell me what this is and how it works? thanks, Sirvad.
As far as I understand it its basically taking the same photo a number of times at differennt exposures and then blending them together so that you can include all the highlights and shadows which may be lost on a single exposure
Eg…take photo1 at exposure 0, photo2 at exposure -1, photo2 at exposure +1 and photo 4 is the result of the three merged together
Agree with all of the above. You can download a full working version of the Photomatix software from: http://www.hdrsoft.com
It will put 3 watermarks of the word “photomatix” on any images you create with the trial version but
it lets you give it a go before buying the full registered version (which I think is only around €60 or so
anyway).
