A Lazy Sunday Walk With Jack.

Mick451ParticipantAlan RossiterParticipant
#1 – yes, nice one for the family album.
#2 – Now that’s quite a image Mick. Your DOF suits this one as does your composition and your conventional B&W finish all help. The branch over your young lads head is a distraction – it doesn’t seem to originate from anywhere. I know – it was there. Very appealing though Mick. I’m sure to compliment following commentators – it would look well in print, I’m sure.
Alan
KWBarbsParticipantAs Alan said the first is very good and also very personal, but that second photo is very striking – the composition and stark B&W work really well. It has a touch of a dark fairytale about it with the trees totally surrounding Jack. I’m not sure that is what you wanted or what anyone else sees, but when I first looked at the 2nd photo it reminded me of Guillermo Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth…..maybe it’s just me and I need therapy…..:(
jessthespringerParticipantReally good, Mick.
Both, quite errie…
I saw the first on your flickr a day or so ago and instantly thought of, Harvey Stephens,
(now, I hope you don’t take that the wrong way, it’s meant as a compliment) he was the
little boy who played, Damien, in the 1976 version of ‘The Omen’I remember watching an interview documentary thing about it a while back, I don’t know
who it was that said it about the little boy, but apparently, they had to tell him not to smile,
all the time…Jack’s smile in the first kind of made me think of that.
And, the second reminded me of the scene with the, Rottweiler dogs…
Again, I hope you don’t take that the wrong way. Really, I mean it as a compliment.
PD_BARBSParticipantI love the second shot, although I agree with Alan regarding the floating branch. Nice atmosphere to it, I rellay do like it.
Mick451ParticipantlousyParticipantThey’re both very impressive images, but my favourite is #1. To me it’s definitely not a run of the mill album snap, at least it’s nothing like I’ve ever seen anyway. The DOF and PP really look nice. I also like #2 as it has a lovely athmosphere to it along with the usual suspects.

Of course, he does have another less quiet side to him:
Yeah a different kettle of fish there all right mick.
Thanks for the very detailed information Mick, much appreciated.

HelenParticipantI love them both Mick but the second shot is my favourite and is lovely capture, and I am sure would make a lovely print
eshortieParticipantExcelent, love that seond shot.
Very interesting how you convert them!ImagineParticipantMick, will you do me a favour and post a crap shot so we know you are human?????
Love them both.
On the set I wonder if it might be better to have the one where his face is visible first (i.e. on the left) so we “know” the subject when we look at the others? But then again you could look at it as if the mystery is revealed, lol.
