    edit -> preferences -> performance

    A scratch disk is basically just a certain amount of space on a certain hard drive that photoshop my use if RAM gets full or for storing undo’s/redo’s ect. Like temp storage.
    It probably goes for drive C by default, which seems like it is close to full in your case. is it? selecting another drive with more free space as the default scratch disk should help

    It’s covered in Help.

    You need to make more space available on teh disk that is set up as teh scratch disk – or else change the scratch disk (using Edit – Preferences – Performance).

    You get much better performance if you use an internal drive or an external esata drive (which is as fast as an internal sata drive) which is used exclusively as a scratch disk. You can get an esata drive for under €100 these days. You’ll need an esata card on your computer if you do.

    For the bit of cost I would highly recommend it though. My TIFFs are upwards of about 400megs and there is a big fall off in performance if my esata scratch disk drive isn’t turned on.
