MartinParticipant
Cant remember the name of this castle/house/church, if anyone knows let me know, cheers
Taken last Sunday in evening light. Was waiting about 90 mins for some light. Was my 3rd visit here to try to get a shot. Better attempt than the first two tries, let me know what you think….
M
Taken on the Mamiya with 65 mm lens and Fuji Acros Film, Scan of the negative and a play in PS for now…
TompixBandonMemberMartin,
I really like it.
The surreal, slightly noisy sky works perfectly with the foreground. You also have a great range of tones in it and there is great detail wherever the eye falls.Great photo.
justaguyParticipantflynnyParticipantVery nice Martin,
I like these atmospheric shots,
Looks loke a scene from one of the old Hammer filmswell done
PaulMartinParticipantThanks for the comments Folks, I like the shot also, think it has a nice mood to it.
Might have trouble trying to get the sky the way it is here to appear like this in the darkroom but i’ll give it a goThanks again
MseanmcfotoMemberIt’s a cracking shot Martin.
I forsee lots of cutouts in your future, if you’re doing a darkroom print :)
thefizzParticipantMartinParticipantSean: Thanks Sean. Yea will need to do a cut out to cover the foreground and castle to get the sky right, fingers crossed I get the sky to come out nice
Peter: Thanks for that, couldn’t remember its name. Must do a bit or research on it
Thanks again all
MMadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantHey Martin, i really like the light in this image….the details of the ruin are wonderful!
cathaldParticipantSuper detail and a stunning sky Martin
But we dont expect anything less from youCathal
jb7ParticipantI suppose that old castle is also near Oldcastle-
Looks good Martin, will be interesting to see the scan of the print-
Did you get up to the Tombs while you were there?
I climbed up to them last year with full 4×5 kit, nearly killed me…
when I got up there, the wind musta been around fifty mph…j
joes64ParticipantmgstParticipantaoluainParticipantOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh,
I love it, beautiful the light is wonderful, lovely detail.
The foreground is kind of IR the sky is kind of HDR and then a swipe of sepia.
Lovely. Interested to see the reworked one too!

Alan RossiterParticipantIf ever there was an example of perfect exposure I suppose this is it. Detail across the range and no blown anything. Nicely composed too which all makes for a great shot. In every image there’s a crop but this one looks just spot on.
Can’t fault it…lucky people on the print exchange probably won’t either.
