I think some of the stuff sounds like the kings of leon!
not really impressed.
I never liked U2.
If this stuff was released by anyone else but U2 we wouldn’t have heard it.Alan
Me Da bought it and passed it onto me the other day.
Said to him this morning: “I’ve played it 3 times but so far I remain unimpressed”. Nothing really jumped out at me, but I haven’t given it a real, hard listen to yet.
Said that about their last album too… which I ended up quite liking.
I have followed U2 through the years not sure about this one yet will have to give a good listen to.

Seems to get better with each listen! Track 3 is the only stand out for me…and I can’t even remember what it’s called!!! Hopefully the live show in July will make it sound better! 8)
I’m actually really enjoying the new album, which is a surprise as I was really dissappointed when I heard the single and for me the jury is still out on it. The music on the album for me doesn’t really tie in with the single, it stands out as a bit of a rotten egg. New album is certainly much better than the previous album, stand out tracks for me are the title track, Magnificent and Breathe which would be easy to skip over seeing it is the penultimate track. I think its well worth the £7 it cost to buy it from iTunes :)
At first listen I was very unimpressed. I’ve given it a few more goes and it is starting to grow on me. At least parts of it are. But there are no real stand out songs and there are a few where anyone involved should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for.
I agree with irishwonkafan, if this wasn’t U2 we would never have heard about it.
The problem is that everyone’s expectations are sky high – taking it at face value (without the negative and positive hype) it’s a good

100% agree with that assessment… having listened to it a few times on the bus the past 2 days that’s exactly what I was going to say myself.
Just below average… not a single standout track.
I dont think I’ll bother with the concert this time around, I’m happy with my Neil Young tickets so I think I’ll give Croker a miss.
