Took this earlier in the year on one of those frosty
mornings.Did a bit of exposure blending on it to boost the shadow areas.
ChaalkParticipantTompixBandonMemberWell captured. Fine photo.
Is your processing suggesting something of an old-world mood?
If so, it might be worth taking out the aerial on the shed to the left and the two outside poles on the right.I can see why the N17 has taken over :D
RobMemberThere’s a lot to like in this one Alan, from my point of view leastways being
a bit of a fan of disused railways…Very good symmetry, perfect verticals and all that. Is this as shot or are there
some perspective adjustments involved post shooting? Looks really good at
this scale…I like the toning too, suits the sense of dereliction and abandonment. If I had
any criticism it might be that I find it perhaps just a tad oversharpened…Lovely picture
aoluainParticipantThanks guys and Gal,
[Welcome to the site Chaalk]
Tompixbandon, I wasnt really after an old world feel, the light early in the morning
as I was passing really caught me and I thought it was interesting enough as is to
be honest. I didnt try to add sepia or unsharpen it I felt it just says something as is.Rob If there is one thing I hate and that is correcting perspective in photoshop!
I splashed out last year to the tune of €1500 on a shift kit.
This was taken handheld with a 17-40 L on the 5D.
I tend to add 50% sharpening after I resize as the sharpness dulls when you resharpen.
I find anyway, maybe its too much.
The only other processing is a 50% mix of an exposure blended layer. and 10% warm upnfl-fanParticipantmgstParticipantaoluainParticipantLoGillParticipantwesleylawMemberDeeboParticipantGreat Alan. Loving this too, the light frost , early morning light in the distance and that lovely green door at the end of track
One of your best
DeeCooksterParticipantLovely shot and processing. The sun at the end of the tracks is sweet.
Something feels a bit weird to me and I can’t put my finger on it. Something like the camera being a bit low? As my eyes are drawn up the track into the picture my neck starts to twitch? If you never hear from me again its that I’ve had a heart attack and your picture is fine!!!Lol
SeanaoluainParticipant:oops:
Jeez thanks everyone, erm ive never had so many positive replies . . .
emjayParticipantFantastic photograph. It very eloquently says something about the history of rail travel in this country. Well done
Good thing is that if the government’s Transport 21 plans ever get finished this station will come back into service in next few years
