Wedding critique

  • After quite some recommendations to come here and upload a picture for critque I decided why not, this is from a wedding on Valentines day and these are 2 of my favourite shots. The first speaks for itself really, the second was towards the end of the day when it was starting to get dark so flash was used with a diffuser, possibly harsh but I do like this particular shot.

I like both shots – on the first I think the main thing to consider is the placement of the strong horizontal going through the BnGs heads. I think I can see some unfinished PP around + between the grooms legs. It’s a beautiful setting and nice shot though.

On the 2nd, exposure looks good to me and nice posing. Maybe could have gotten both bouquets to feature in the shot but the most obvious thing to me are the trees in the background.

Thanks Eas, I see what you mean around the grooms legs and honestly I had not noticed that, I had selected an eclipse, inverted and done a guassian blur but I cant recall doing any saturation changes on any layer. Then again I have just moved to photoshop so I may have made a little error there. With regards to the trees in the background, yes they can be distracting although with trees everywhere it was hard not to get any, will pay more attention to that next time.

Do you notice the setting? In wicklow…

yeah…trees are hard to avoid sometimes.

    I can’t say 100% on the location…blessington I’d guess?

Yep, spot on, very lucky with the setting, the day was clear and snow on the mountains was a great help. Fabulous setting. The second one was at the reception in the Ardenode Hotel.
