Have never seen a Brambling, very pretty and very finchy looking, are they
of the finch family? Two very nice shots in any case.Lovely John. Fine shot of the Greenfinch, great pose. Brambling… never seen one in the flesh… beaut.

Shutterbug – a brambling is like a chaffinch’s cousin from up north. I think
they’re closely related. If you see the female feeding with chaffinches you’d
often not even notice it.
