Any C&C on this much appreciated. Original is colour, desaturated & boosted contrast in Canon Raw, opened and sharpened in PS Elements.

    Canon 40D, Canon 24-105mm f4 L IS USM 24mm, f16, 1/5th, iso 100, Tripod used, Manual exposure mode

    Hi Mikka,

Very nice photo with lots of interest. I don’t think you need to have as much of the road in the image as you have here. It’s a little distracting IMO and it takes your attention away from the main subject that you were focused on capturing. If it were mine I would crop a section from the bottom end.

Overall very nice though – de-saturating the picture was definitely a good option.

Agree with Daithi on this, you could crop and inch or two of the bottom. Drawing you better to the figure and the great looking tree shrouded in the fog.

    Great shot.

Thanks for looking and the C&C. I was actually shooting the long path with the lead into the fog when I noticed the man coming towards me, this is the fourth frame of four shots. I see what you mean about a crop off the bottom, will keep that in mind as I am thinking of making a print of the four shots on one sheet.
You are also right about the B&W conversion, colour does not do anything for foggy scenes…………..Mikka

I kind of like the big bit of road in the bottom; It gives this feeling of loneliness.
He really is the only one walking there and the big empty road.

I think it blends well with the ‘eerie’ fog.
