    Taken some time ago on an abortive attempt to walk the western way carrying too much gear!

    This looks a bit flat to me sevenj.

    I’m not really getting much of a feeling of depth or distance. That’s a shame too because I think with that path in the foreground you are trying hard to lead me in. I just feel the distant hills and sky are a bit flat and almost seem to merge together. Did you use a polariser on the sky? I suspect that this darkneing down of the sky might be what has caused this effect.

    Hi andy- Looking back on the originals it seems i did use a polariser but the bay and mountains seem engulfed in a haze. I tried to bring down their levels relative to the sky- but I guess I couldn’t find a balance – looking at it now the top 2/3 of the image is just unresolved. Thanks for your input. John

    Not a great candidate for B&W in my opinion – needs the colour layers that would bring out the depth.

    Clew Bay is kind of lost in the background for me. I echo the comment above, might have worked better with colour.
