Ok need help please…I don’t do portraits. So many people do them so well around here already. I have been going through old files looking for a photo of my best friend Belinda to give to her as she just had a very big birthday and her beauty certainly belies her age (sick.) I am leaning toward this one as I think it captures the Belinda that I know, but I am worried that the DOF is just a wee but shallow. Any comments about that or any advice on improvement or if you think I should keep looking for a better shot, I’d love to hear it! Thanks~~

It seems sharp enough and the light is good, too
The first thing that strikes me, though, is that the frame is very tight. The relaxed demeanour is diluted by the absence of space around her, particularly on the left side.
Perhaps, this is a crop and you may may have more in the original image. If not, a coloured mounting board may help.

    Just a few thoughts!

 almost forgot to tell you thank you Tom!

Soon after I posted this I found a different..better..photo, and then a friend (our own Joseph) came up with an even better solution!

I completely agree with e everything you said by the way :D
