hi Darragh, not one of your best, but i still like it. a lower perspective would have made the foreground jump out a bit, and ten degrees to the left would have sat better for me.

I would have set up and waited for the sun to drop a bit ,to high for me also.

Is there a slight halo going up the rock/cliff adge or is it me?

I love the soft tones to this.

i think it is brilliant! actually the best sunset image i saw in the last few month in PS! Well done. I can remember that you use filters right? what exactly did you use because i never used one of these. well done!

    Hi Daragh,
I like your image. Shooting into the sun & getting a nice balanced exposure is never easy. When I looked at an enlarged image I notice a lot of foreign bodies showing up on the image and a strange line in the sky on the upper right hand side.

This is a sunrise shot, I am envious of those people on the west coast with sunset.

    Madeleine,
    I use Singh-Ray Reverse Grads.
These filters have a dark band across them especially for shooting into the sun.
These are better example images of using these reverse grad filters

Thanks for the info in the filters Darragh – I’ve been wondering for some time if something like this is availible. It seems a logical choice for sunset/sunrise images.

Like the shot btw – the sky has a lovely hue to it. Is it just me or can i see the edge of the filter? A line from the top of the cliff, about a 3rd in from the RHS. Should be easily fixed.

interesting Darragh, thanks for info, the second image is lovely as well…a bit oversaturated but it suit the image and scene. Cheer Madeleine
