    Hi dar_d,

    The colours are nice.

The composition issue may be that the horizons effectively cut both
images in half. You may have been aware of this & meant to do it but
generally it is less pleasing to view than an off centre horizon.

Your introduction referred to “…grab these and run…….” which method
dosen’t give you the chance to get the best image you are capable of.

You probably know all this already.

Looks like a nice location. Thanks for posting.

    John.

    Yes agree with John
Need to spend some time eyein up the best composition. First one works better (with crop removing rocks on bottom right) than the second as its less cluttered but getting a lead in line or good foreground usually worlks. Good location and has potential

Agree with above, you need to take time with this sort of thing, concentrate on what
the scene says to you — here the wonderful colours in the sky and the reflections, perhaps; more sky might have
been better, with the horizon on the lower third, or even the other way round, concentrating
    on the reflections.

The horizons in both are slightly tilted — easily fixed in pp.

Thanks for the replies…I’ll have a mess around with the crops but ideally I’ll go back there over the next couple of weeks when I have time to do it properly!
