Morocco river crossing.

Was disappointed the colours were not more vibrant but I am still fond of this photo. I asked could I take it and he was ok with it.
LoGillParticipantI said before the lighting is very flat here – and I know there is a river and perhaps lens limitation here ;) .. but I think getting closer would help .. and also a less centred compostion ..

aoluainParticipantHHHHHHHHMMMMM,
A lot of Morocco pics here lately
I really like this, good and sharp but the first thing I picked up on
was what Lorraine posted, the figure is too central.I would’nt worry about the light as I said it is sharp and good contrast too.
There is one peice of advice I have learned when taking photos of people is to get in close
but this is not a kind of yes/no, black/white situation, it can be said that
it is nice to see the herder/shepard/trader or whatever in his rugged surroundings,
but just a bit to central, try a crop from either side !?I like it though.
ok imm gonna search out some more morocco pics
Liam2673ParticipantThanks for comments folks.
Alan: if only I’d had the Tripod with me the morocco photos would be a whole lot better!!!!! :-)
Re getting close…..river was in the way…..i’ve already lost a camera crossing a river.
Re positioning, point taken and agreed.
b318ispParticipantI agree with the comments above – technically good, a slight green sats boost or a touch of a warming filter may help colour.
CooksterParticipantWithout the man and donkey this could be anywhere. He is so focused on looking after his livelihood, it would have been nice to see more of the face from a lower angle maybe. Nice shot just the same

thanks for the comment much appreciated.
As mentioned earlier, I couldn’t get closer without getting into the river.
Also, while acquiescing to my request he was uncomfortable having his photo taken, that is why he was looking down, I paused for about 10 seconds to see if he would look up but no dice.
Maybe if I’d been down on my hunkers it would have been a better angle.
Thanks for looking.
