I am looking at the Canon RS-80N3 Remote Switch what do you all think
One more thing what do you think of CANON 430EX SPEEDLITE
All replies appreciated.
JohnsteelydanParticipantThe Kenko tele converter , you will loose light with that attached to your lens. i.e your 70-200 is f2.8 then if you place that converter in between the lens and your camera ,you then will be shooting at f8 ( f2.8 -> f4 -> f8= three stops) Sometimes those teleconverters will soften your images also.
You have the 18-55 and 70-200 covered in your lenses , the only one I can see having benefit is the Sigma 28-70 f2.8 if its a Canon fit ( you have sigma fit) Then you have covered from 18mm to 200mm and you have three lenses that now will cover, landscapes, portraiture, wildlife
This is the main point ,what interests have you in photography, what do you enjoy taking?? If its just landscapes then all you need is your 18-55 and 70-200, don’t jump right in a buy “everything” you will find like everyone that takes photographs, that you will spend money at first ,thinking these will do. Then in the end you will find that you don’t need all those lenses or you are selling those to get the really expensive ones that you have read about.
my advice “walk before you can run”
PS the remote and the flash are good additions to your camera bag. and a good tripod is a must, never take the camera off it.
johnoconnor11ParticipantOk thanks
No its defo canon fit. As for what i like to take Landscape wildlife but most of all Potrait. I have a beautyfull wifr and baby girl and i want to be able to take nice pictures of the two of them and us as a family.I can get the telephoto lens for about 100 what do you think and what is the Sigma one worth ?
I actually made a mistake in earlier post the tamron is up to 300mmJohn
steelydanParticipantFirst thing I would do regarding a lens choice is to google it, and read the reviews and then decide what they rate the lens at. Then I would google a price for it either on ebay (as its second hand) or secondhand shops, therefore you know if the price you are quoted is worth it.

Its a good lens for portrait as its got the f2.8 and that will allow you to shoot at low light or available light.
johnoconnor11Participantrc53MemberYou will loose autofocus if you use the 3xKenko with the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8, and the viewfinder will be much darker, making manual focus
that much harder.steelydanParticipantThis is a non Canon brand and I have used them and they work a treat without spending a fortune, if they fall in water (like mine have) you just replace them.

Flashguns are more expensive though, find out will you use it much. If its for off camera action (strobists style, just google) just looks for Vivitar 385,383
I think the newer vivitar are 385HV ( NB dont use the flashes on camera, as they have different voltage and might “fry” the camera)but they can be uses off the camera using gadget infinity remotes called Cactus v2s trigger (google them)Older canon flashes will work also, I use a Canon 420EX, 430EZ and Vivitar 385 all firing off camera on standshere is the flash
