Had a wonderful few days photography in the Mourne mountains this past week.
Above are 2 images that I’d appreciate feedback/comment on. The first is a lone tree near Spelga Dam.
The image was converted to infra-red using PS elements.
The second is a cropped down version of a larger HDR shot at Bloody Bridge. There was not great
light at the time but the HDR got the best out of it.
Again – thanks to Sinead for her tips on locations in the Mournes. Just wish I had time to get
around them all.
Martin.
Your very welcome Martin. Glad you had a good day.
I’m not so sure about either of these.
I think maybe a b&w conversion on the first might have been more pleasing,
there is quite a bit of detail missing from the grass along the riverbank, it looks like you’ve pushed it a bit far.
I like the idea of the second, but, I’m not sure if it’s due to the crop, or the HDR, but, it doesn’t look sharp,
almost looks like there has been a small bit of movement, maybe, I’m not sure…
I think if this was the shot you were planning for, it might have worked without the HDR? Maybe…
I like the other shot you posted much better. Much more natural looking.
Hi Sinead….thanks for the comments and I can see what you are saying, particularly in the second one.
There may have been some movement between the 3 shots for the hdr alright.
Will have a look at processing the “tree” image again.
The light the morning of the shot near Bryansford was perfect.
