Bluebell moods

I should really post this in my Mount Usher project, but as it’s clearly bluebell season I thought I’d throw my interpretation into the landscape section also.

I’ve been playing alot (too much?) recently with narrow DoF to evoke moods rather than just capture the scene. I’m starting to get a good collection of colourful bokeh.

I’d be interested in you thoughts on this one. Firstly any feedback on the image itself, then secondly in your opinion is it landscape or something more abstract?

    Thanks for looking.

It’s bluebells versus groynes this evening.
    An extravaganza of chiche.

But this sets out to be different. It is landscape of course, the landscape at our feet perhaps.
I do actually like this very much. It’s hard to keep these shots simple and I’m wondering if would have been possible to make it even simpler. The bluebell to the left hand side is perhaps a little distracting but overall I like the fresh approach you have taken here.

Between Peter’s panning bluebells, Aedan’s bluebell wildlife, your landscape within and the more cliched shots like my own I think we have done the bluebell season very proud.

Very nice. An intimate landscape. The bluebells are getting a bit strong on the left. I am wondering if it would have been better with bluebells in the foreground but I do like the whispy grass. Maybe clone out the ones with no stems that are chopped on the bottom.

bumping as the groynes are taking over at the top there!

Thanks Andy and Wesley – yes we have a good set of bluebells (and groynes) this season, and I am sure there will be more to come. I often wonder whether the collective approach should be taken to posts with common themes as with the rainbow thread, but I guess that removes the opportunity for individual feedback which is much appreciated in this case.

Thanks for pointing out that one on the left, and I agree that I could lose some grass at the bottom – I will have to try and do something there. I do have a couple less busy compositions, but this is the one that got the best light and mood.

    I like this Mr.H!

simple, different and some nice atmosphere.

reminds me of a warm summers day away over the fields lying in the grass . . .

Thank you Alan – exactly the emotional response I was aiming for.
