    Hi Niall,

    The composition looks good.

It looks a little noisy though, maybe oversharpened.

Be handier if you embedded the image here.

I posted a link on your introduction thread that would help.

    Cheers,

    John.

Quite a change from the standard view, and I take it you have desaturated all but the foreground flowers.
Looks good, tho see comments above.

    Beyouteeful sky.
I’d rotate a little bit, seems crooked.
Maybe a small crop from the bottom?

thanks folks. i hear on the noise issue, not sure why that is. shot at iso100 and there’s no noise on the original or on my flickr site. seems to just be noisy here.
Pixelle, i see what your sayin, looks a little off to me too, but, the sea is level…so it must be straight.

    Hi Niall,

yep nice image! I would agree with all that has been said there above,

Love the sky, exposure seems good, very to get this totally blown out.

The oversharpening is leaving a white edge mark around almost
    everything.

    If Johns link does’nt help try . . .

I’ve seen the version you have on flickr and it’s much much better. It must be postimage.org? It looks like all detail has been compressed out of it. I post straight from flickr using this site http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/html2bbcode/ It converts the flickr html code (when you click on all sizes, first box) into code that can be used here.

Sorry but I got browned off waiting for it to load. you should resize and save the file no more than 800px along the longest side.

Maybe just a little smaller with a link to the bigger image. I think in flickr’s T&Cs you have to link back to the original flickr page (even when it’s your image). That’s why I use the code in the first box at medium format and convert to bbcode.

The image is very nice. I don’t normally like selective B&W but I think it works here and the clouds are great.

    Hi Niall,

    That is a major difference.

As phil said a little large, on my screen anyway, but I’m sure you
    can sort that.

I would probably have dodged back a little detail in the middle
ground (where the house is) but that’s just personal.

    Very good.

    Cheers,

    John.

I opened this thread a few times and looked at the smaller image and couldn’t even have been bothered opening it, because it didn’t look great.

Then I saw the second image and how wrong I was, lovely shot well composed, nice conversion and the colour pop works fine. Nicely done, glad I came back to this thread.
