charges

  Hi,

  i am doing quite a bit of gig photography and have been sending my shots
  onto the bands involved. i have been asked to go along to some other gigs to take
  shots for a few of the bands.
  can anyone let me know what the average charge would or should be?? assuming the shots will be
  for websites etc.
  any info much appreciated. thanks

  How much did you charge for this and what was the Usage Rights agreed ?
  That would be the starting point, for what you have now been asked for…

  Hi Ashley,

  i have not charged for anything as of yet. i am only
  starting out, and trying to build a reputation.
  i was think of more charging for attend the event
  and garentee 20 – 30 shots for there own yous on website etc,
  haveing my name / logo on the shots and agrred that anyuse
  or the images that i am refernenced.

  The big problem you now face, is your ‘reputation’ for not charging anything.

  thansk again ashley,

  i guess cause its all mainly new bands starting out, that are all broke.
  i suppose the way to do it is garentee the tree things as a starting point.
  as you say even if it for little or no fee.

  it might be a hard sell to bands aswell, as generally, there is quite a few
  people there snapping away. the few i have been at, the shots i have taken have been
  quite a bit better that the others i have seen. so that is why people have asked me
  to come to other gigs.

  A little band called U2, started out that way too :)
