C&C please. Trying to get used to CS4, my head is melted :)

I gave up. I’m sticking with Elements 7 for now. Great sharp, clear shot. I still have a few in my CBS square. They seem to be holding their own.

Just got CS4 as a gift, delighted to finally upgrade from photoshop 6. But it’s going to take some getting used to. Thanks for the C&C, i have a great spot for them, i need to put some more work into them to get something special, Carlow is one of the best strongholds for Yellowhammer.

Colour, focus and sharpness seem perfect. The only negative I’d have for it as a “pose” photo is that it’s a litle closely cropped. I’ve gotten that one a lot lately so I’m leaving more space.

    Hi John,

    Nicely done.

Is the blur front and back all from the camera or with some
    CS4 help?

I have used Elements 4 for years and am trying 7.
Think I’ll stick with Elements for the mo too.

    Cheers,

    John.

Here’s the uncropped original, the bird was in shadow so i cropped out the highlighted areas because i thought they were distracting, thats why it was so tight.
The blur is totally in camera, i have included the camera data below, a 600 f4 + 1.4x gives a narrow depth of field. I love the bokea (spelling??) on the 600 f4.

Thanks Mark, yeah worth every cent.
Here’s another from the same day.
I like the leaf in front of the bird but not sure about the twigs in the top right.

“Whats that bloody clicking noise coming from that odd shaped bush with the bucket stuck in it”

Nice work. The 600 mm f4 is a great piece of glass.

    Cheers, John

Lovely capture alright.. my Dad was asking me the other week if I had seen any as there used to be plentiful around where we live .. but seems like Carlow is where they have all gone to :D
