I travelled back from Dungarvan yesterday along
    the coast road.

Stopped at Annestown Strand for a while.

It was between 5 and 6pm. Would really like
to have been there when the sun was lower.

Lovely part of Ireland and 3 beautiful images here…I hope to
get out there early in the morning as the forecast is good…hard
to beat these shots though…well done.

    Three excellent images there.

I particularly like the first as the coastline and whitewater recedes away into the distance. This is a great time of year for coastal wildflowers and you have used these very well.

Lovely shots you have there. I was stood in that exact spot in one early morning in January en route from Waterford to Cork. No flowers or grass there then!!! :)

Many thanks to everybody who stopped by to look and
to Noel, Andy and Ballyman for taking the time to comment.

Noel it is a lovely coastline along there and I have a feeling there
are good images to be had there at both ends of the day.

Andy there does seem to be quite a lot of flowers about and I’m glad
you liked that I included them.
The shots I took without the flowers didn’t look as interesting to my eye.

Thanks Ballyman. As mentioned above I do think this scene would be interesting in
the early or late parts of the day.

    Thanks again,

    John.

Thje first is a cracker John. The third also has more potential if you can get back to the orginal and fiddle with USM settings to lessen the oversharpened look I’m seeing (esp. in the f/g).

    Hi Brendan,

Many thanks for taking the time to comment.

You are probably right about #3.
The resizing software I use can add a bit of sharpening which sometimes
improves an image at this size.
Sometimes it really overcooks an image and I turn it off.
Here it is probably a little too much.

I’ll have another go at it.

    Thanks again,

    John.

Very nice set John. The first works best for me, the water line stretching into the distance really pulls you into the shot

    Hi Brendan,

This is my processed file for #3 but with sharpening turned off on the resizing
    software.

    John.

    That looks more natural John.

Agreed, the second version of #3 looks more natural.

I like #2 too, it’s what I’ve been trying to capture of late too as there’s a lot of it about.

    Many thanks Brendan and Pete,

IrfanView can sharpen a bit too much at times and sharpening is better turned off.
Depends on the image I suppose.
But it is a very handy little routine for resizing for here.

    Cheers,

    John.

    Hi John,

1 and 3 are just crackers – great and composition and just a perfect amount of saturation!

Many thanks Ken for your kind comments.
