Gene Kelly, on a bicycle
-
MartinOCParticipant
Taken from my balcony. Rainy season has just started. Annually it rains (in cm) more than twice as much as in Ireland, but most in the rainy season.
Taken with Fujifilm 1600.Martin
randomwayMemberI love this one, Martin, it’s almost like a scene from a movie, with the cyclist being in the light spot in the right time… Excellent detail.
MartinParticipantSuper shot Martin.
Colour are great in this, almost pastel like. The bike is in a great place just passing through that patch of light. The car coming down the road with its lights on works very well too. Over all a nice one would be happy to have it in my collection of prints
M
jessthespringerParticipantVery cool Martin, love the reflection of the cyclist, and just the madness of cycling with an umbrella! I like the colour too…
Sinead
jb7ParticipantVery good-
maybe more like a side street from Bladerunner though-
the way that brolly looks like the light is from within…MartinOCParticipantThanks! I was very fortunate to get the guy crossing the street into the spotlight.
He is being being lit from above from one light and from directly behind by another. The clear plastic umbrella takes the light well.
And the Domino’s Pizza sign outside my flat is over-exposed and not noticeable, it would have taken from the “Blade Runner”-ness.Today I saw a guy reading a book whilst cycling, unfortunately I didn’t have a camera with me.
Cheers,
Martin
ExpresbroParticipantLove this one Martin. I saw it earlier today and I thought of Bladerunner too like Joseph. Has that kind of eeriness.
A guy reading while cycling..that would be a great shot..or even better..reading under his umbrella in the rain while cycling…hehe!! Look Ma…no hands!!
DeeboParticipantThats a smashing shot and great timing.
Lots of interest in this shot, right the way up to the green tinged sky and arials
DeeMartinOCParticipantCheers lads,
there are some parts of Tokyo that are total Blade Runner, minus the flying cars, but I didn’t think my street was one.M
ShleedMemberI really like the picture, good athmosphere and composition. I imagined Bladerunner’s “blues” theme tune when looking at it.
wirepicParticipantJust have to add to the chorus of well dones on this one. It was a great spot.
jessthespringerParticipantI saw a man riding a bike once, in Newtownhamilton, wearing blue overalls, smoking a fag and had one hand in his pocket,
priceless… Still makes me laugh when I think of it…GizzoParticipantabsolutely Blade Runner-istic!
the black area in the right hand corner is distracting me a bit. but hey this is street ;)MartinOCParticipantYes the bottom right is a bit too square to fit in, I didn’t like it either but its an overhang. Nothing to do.
Next rainstorm I’ll try my digi with zoom to see how it compares, I don’t have a tele for my film cameras, but film is worked well here.M
DenverDollParticipantWow!
This is beautiful~~
Love the perspective..love the atmosphere…love the quirky subject….
This is a gem Martin..well done! :D
