Hi folks,
anyone using the cheep flash triggers that can be had on ebay for
abotu 20 or 30 yoyo’s?
looking at getting the st2e but no cash at present and would like to
give it a go. any info much appreciated.cheers
Robnfl-fanParticipantThis is the place to get them…
They’re OK… do what they are supposed to. You have to set the flash to Manual… not ETTL or the like.

Alan RossiterParticipantI’d be more enclined to get this type as the brackets on the older PT-04 do tend to break. They’re cheap too but like most things you get what you pay for.
Alan.
CormacParticipantI have the older type PT-04, and they work perfectly well, but the shape doesn’t lend itself to stability.
Even with the nikon-style stands that they throw in for free, they tend to be a bit precarious with a flash sitting on top of them.
It also appears that the newer version includes three receivers, all for about €40 including postage – looks like a good deal.
Let us know how they work out if you buy them.Cormac
latchikoParticipantThe new Cactus V4s are an amazing piece of kit for the money. Apart from distance they have performed on par with elinchrom skyports, with consistent firing and no misfires. I’d highly recommend them.
brownieParticipantGot a pair of the Cactus v4’s about two months ago…used at a
wedding and several confirmations and they worked perfectly,
you wont know yourself if you buy them…they are great.Noel Browne.
RodredMemberjust went with these only saw your post about the cactus 4’s, aw well
ill see how i get on, anyone have any recommendations on a decent
powerful flash that aint so expensive??ill let yous know how i go with them
thanks
RobCormacParticipantIf you’re using a flash (or flashes) with the wireless triggers, then there are a number of strong, manual models here:

The Vivitar 285HV is a classic workhorse, and now Cactus are producing it’s twin.
