Wexford locations?

Mr.HParticipant
OK Wexford people, I get to spend next week on my holidays in the SSE. I have even invited the mother-in-law along which should give me a little more flexibility in getting out for some photography. So I need some some local knowledge on areas to visit.
I plan to give hook head a go, and hope to get out for another evening/sunset somewhere – any suggestions?
Had a great morning last year with nfl & lousy in St Helens bay. I guess this is off the agenda for sunrise/sunset at this time of year?
Any other areas you recommend for a couple hours pottering with a camera, and when best to go (morning/evening etc.)
Also anywhere good for a family trip with a bit of shooting on the side – fishing villages etc.If anyone’s interested in meeting up for a shoot one evening, fire me a PM.
Cheers
Gary
nfl-fanParticipantAssuming you’re staying in Rosslare Gary then…
The Burrow in Rosslare is great for sunset… only down the road from Rosslare Strand, Kelly’s Hotel etc. I’ve posted a good few images from this spot in recent times. Especially nice if you get there when the tide is in and the water is dead calm.
Tacumshane Windmill is worth a visit, not far from Rosslare. Light is always tricky here, my only decent results were with the I.R. camera. Other than the Windmill there now’t much else in this area that I am aware of.
The Hook Head as you already mentioned is good at sunset… could be interesting at sunrise too although I’ve never tried it.
St. Helen’s is always different… haven’t been there in a while, but will summons the strength to get out some morning… sunrise is circa 5am these days :?
I was down around Duncannon a few weeks ago and found a couple of nice bays which might look good at sunset. Dollar Bay was one of them, can’t remember the other.
Curracloe beach is nice… it’s a very featureless beach but great for walks and street style photography if there’s a few people around.
Johnstown Castle is nice for a walk with the family (I think you have to pay in during the summer, but its not much I think). JFK Park is grand for a stroll too but you have to pay to enter.
There’s loads of other places that I potter around… fields, roads, hills and the like… but they’d be a bit hard to document direction wise as well as being a bit out of the way.
