Excellent Peter,
I love this, something from the lord of the rings about it.
The misty feel through the tunnel is lovely.
The exposure is great too, is it a blended image? does’nt matter anyway
the finished product is great.Love the composition the POV gives a great scale to those trees.
Alan
petercoxMemberAlan –
Thanks for the comments. No, it’s a single exposure – although you’re not the first to think it’s a HDR. It was a very poor day for the ‘grand scenic’ type of photograph (overcast, rainy), but the light was ideal for this view.Cheers,
PeterflynnyParticipantPitmaticMemberThats great Peter a lot to take in there mmm lord of the the rings… odly enough if i didnt know where this was and you had said you took this in australia I would have believed you :)
5faytheParticipantHi Peter,
That’s a really interesting image to view.
The shapes are lovely and the road leading through
the image and off into the distance is very attractive. The colour in the leaves is nice and uniform without the highlight
and shadow effect that can happen on sunny days. You should be pleased with that.
Cheers,
John.
seanyMemberJMac-2006ParticipantGreat location Peter
I am sure i have seen this road on here before I think, although in a different season. Was there an opportunity to have a bit more of the road in frame up to where you were?
Great light and exposure and definitely an other worldly fantasy look to those treesrc53MemberpetercoxMemberThanks folks.
JMac – Yes, there was of course the opportunity to have more of the road, but the road is not the interesting thing in the scene, so I deliberately minimized it.
Cheers,
PetercathaldParticipantI have seen a few shots of this from Andy and a few others which were all great
But I think this is one of the best Peter as the leaves add something different to
the shot perhaps it is the different shadows that they cast, and I like the way that
you have used the road in a minimal sort of a way
So when are you heading for a Donegal series?Cathal
BrianParticipantI like this but I would have liked to seen something included to give a sense of scale, a person ideally. Would love to see it myself sometime, looks like an amazing place.
miki gParticipantHi Peter. At first glance looked like a painting of a scene from a fantasy film or book cover. Great shot. well done
petercoxMemberAedanCParticipantFantastic shot Peter, I love the light through the trees in the upper left quarter. You did well to get the detail on all the trees at the lower level. Well done.
