My 3 year old had the chicken pox last weekend so I couldn’t get out of the house so I shot some flowers instead. :D
C&C, as always, welcome.Thanks,
Janine.
5faytheParticipantHi Janine,
I like this a lot.
Nice and crisp with lovely colour.I might have cropped a little tighter or a little wider on
the LHS.The image is also a little small on screen.
Well done.
John.
GenieParticipantDo you mean the bottom left hand side John? I put up the larger image and too me it just looked huge so I went for the medium.
Thanks for commenting John,
Janine

Hi Janine,
You are right I didn’t explain myself very well and also it is
not a criticism just a thought.I just noted that there is a little bit of background showing through
the petals on the LHS of the frame.
I wondered if it might be better if you shot a little wider and showed all of the
petals or cropped a little tighter and showed none of the background.Of course neither of these ideas might make it better at all and as I said I think
it’s very good as it is.Cheers,
John.
nfl-fanParticipantThe flower is good Janine.. but there’s something very unflattering, possibly harsh or too contrasty, about the bluey/black background, especially in the bottom left corner.
There also seems to be a bluey cast in places on the green stem in the bottom right corner.
In summary the flower is fine.. but the backdrop seems to be a strange one.
GenieParticipantYour right John, what it actually was is a black piece of paper from a childs colouring book! I was improvising :D I thought myself that the end of the petals had a bit of a tinge to them and I wasn’t sure what it was. It must be the black paper, I shot it in a window with no direct light.
Thanks to both John’s for the comments, much appreciated.
Janine
White RussianMemberVery nice to my eye image, crisp and soft colors.
Only thing is distracting me is background – has to be either black or blue (I might prefer blue :) ), but not 2 colors at once.Natalja
GenieParticipantThanks Natalja for the comments. Yeah I think its the kids colouring book that I used as a background that is throwing the picture out. Its all the one colour, but maybe the bottom bit was getting a bit more natural light than the rest.
Thanks again fo the ocmments,
Janine
