Can anyone recommend a good way of cleaning camera lenses, sensors, etc?
I think I’ve procrastinated far too long on this one. But I don’t know where to start!
GizzoParticipantyes. eclipse liquid and sensor swab with the appropriate tissue.
you can find everything you need on micro-tools.deactually I am still waiting for my order.
oh this is for sensor cleaning. (you can find some interesting tutorials on the web)
for the lens I use a soft microfibre cloth by 3M and a lenspen. but just when it’s really manky.plainoldmeMemberlousyParticipantTo be honest it’s a very easy process to clean your sensor. Everybody gets this problem and it can be frustrating. I bought a ‘sensor cleaning’ kit and did it myself. Ok I was nervous about doing it, but after one cleaning you’ll be saying what’s all the fuss about. Below is a link to how easy it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z11mBKz22Uw

lousyParticipantbigalguitarpickerParticipantFor sensor cleaning (or to be precise, cleaning the filter on the front of your sensor) first try using a Rocket blower or similar. You might find this shifts all the crud. If not, the Arctic Butterfly is a great piece of kit. Next stop if the Butterfly can’t finish the job is wet cleaning with swabs and fluids. I’ve been using my DSLR for 4 years now I think, maybe 5, and I’ve never needed anything more than the Butterfly, even though my sensor sometimes looks like it has bits of coal sticking to it! Like Lousy says, once you’ve taken the plunge and cleaned your sensor for the first time, you’ll wonder why you were nervous about doing it.
