Nintendo Wii Recommendations

Young lad turned 6 yesterday… a bunch of family members must’ve spent the best part of 6-7 hours playing yesterday afternoon and last night.

We played mostly Wii Sports and some Mario Kart… great fun, loads of friendly competition… especially between me Da and myself when it comes to sports.

Just wondering can anyone recommend any good family/group games for the Nintendo Wii?

    Cheers

I can definitely recommend bowling, I have played it a few times and found it great fun as well as being very competitive.

Hmmm…I happen to know a lot bout this stuff, finally, a thread I can contribute to! :P

Family Party Wii; Good craic, great for all ages, loads of different stuff to try. The only downside is when you end up wrecked from all the jumping around!

Bust A Move; A dance game, of course. Fun yes, but tiresome…it’ll make you want to punch the tv after a while!

TV Show King Party; Its good for what it is, and says it’s for over 3yrs of age, but I would reckon that a lot of the “quiz” questions are a bit advanced.

Boom Box Bash Party; This is a great game, developed by Steven Spielberg, and contains on awful lot of PG-unnecessary blowing things up. (If you hadn’t guessed from the name). Loaded with multiplayer options. Perfect for young kids!

Super Smash Bro’s Brawl; One of my favourites. All the old Nintendo characters from Mario to Pokemon. Multiplayer, fun, and you get to kick the crap out of each other. Not sure why, but the rating is 12+….like I said, I’m not sure it needs it but its up to yourself.

And finally….(I HAVE to put this in)

Guitar Hero World Tour; Get the whole package and you can have four people join in. Guitar, Bass, Drums, And Vocals, enough to wreck your head if they get into it! It’s dangerously addictive, great fun. That’s not to say they wouldn’t benefit more from learning a real instrument, but hey, it’s the videogame era. Also 12+….but you know, it’s never too early to become a mini-rocker ;)

There’s a lot of other games all aimed to a family audience. Carnival Games, Summer Beach Sports, Wii Family Skii, and about a billion others you can find online-all with the same general aim. A lot are just sports based though, as it seems to be the most viable method of multiplayer inclusion.

    Hope I helped.

    Thanks everyone.

Dave – Wii Sports Bowling was the main game that we all latched onto. Great fun.

JAG – Yep, got this for the young lad as he always enjoyed Super Mario stuff on the DS.

POM – Thanks, I’ll research these.
