Im only really thinking about getting into photography now, but have always had an interest in NYC street scenes, took this last year when i was living over there, with a crappy point and shoot. I’m gonna trade up to dslr soon i think.

I suppose any beginner can take a picture in Manhattan and it will ooze atmosphere..but i like the lighting and the ‘grainy’ look in this one, any thoughts?

    Hi larry david,

First of all welcome to the Photography Ireland site and I hope you
enjoy the experience and get all the help you ask for.

This looks like a good street image but I would advise that you embed your
images so they show at a decent size when a member clicks on your post.
You are in danger of not getting as many replies as you’d like if you don’t.

There are plenty of threads with advice on embedding images like the 2 below.

    Cheers and good luck.

You’re correct larry, almost anybody can get some street atmosphere from a Manahttan shot , which is why almost all of these type of
shots are great – and this one is no exception.

I like the sunny lighting on the shoulders and agree with you about the grainy finish being attractive.

One small neggy, perhaps seeing a little more of the people (their feet that is) and a little less of the sky might be a small
    improvement. :)
