more X-process from the Lubitel

  Had a spot of bother with this roll of Provia 400.

  I had the camera constantly in the car with me in the glove
  compartment but only noticed half way through the roll
  that one of the external screws used to hold on the door latch
  was missing, I had to get out the black insulation tape reserved for
  holga emergencies. I was getting a lot of light leakage through the
  screw hole, never thought to cover that!

  anyway here is another 2 from the second roll !

  Hi Alan,

  #1 would probably be representative of a typical farmyard
  scene of it’s time.
  The curved galvanized roof of the shed, what looks like cement walls and
  the tubular barred gate.
  The hopper looks relatively new but dosen’t seem to be used.
  The image looks like it could have been shot years ago.
  I like it. No comment about the fogging :)

  #2 also has the feeling of an image from a few years back but elements
  in the picture place it in a more recent time.
  This image dosen’t have the same resonance for me as #1 has but
  then I’m a farmers son.

  Yea the first one reminds me of something from the 50’s.

  Bottom one not the same really, though I think there is something of interest in it. ?

  I actually like the second one better.
  I love the cloud and the overall colouring but the is a certain compositional balance in it.
  The eye gets drawn from the sign to the boy to the underpass. There is communication of the foreground with the background.
  I don’t really the best way to describe why I like it but that was my attempt.

  The first is good too, I’m generally not a fan of light leaks unless the they somehow luckily add to the picture, here its just a light leak for me.
  But the 50’s /60’s colouring does tie in with the suggestion of a space rocket, that’s nice.

  I know what you are getting at with #1, it caught my eye
  in a strange way too . . . obviously.

  I agree with the light leak thought. This one in #1 was not
  planned and is a bit annoying.

  The space rocket was actually what I thought when I drove past
  and the colouring helps too.

  I suppose that is part and parcel of “lo-fi photography”, the unexpected.
