First image is great only thing i would do is clone out the rain drops as already mentioned they distract the eye a little.
Getting an exposure for a dark coloured bird with very bright white in is a challenge for anyone, so wouldnt worry to much.
If you shot it in raw maybe you would have enough detail to drop exposure 2 stops, which might bring some detail back into the white and then blend with the original.
That would be how I personally would deal with it.

Thanks for the opinions, I haven’t printed it yet but will try getting rid of the white dots before I do. They’re actually small feathers floating on the surface, I was aware of them at the time but I just couldn’t frame up without including some of them somewhere.
