Mr.HParticipant
Catching up on my images from my week in Wexford in early June. Heres a few variations on a theme. Any suggestions to improve welcomed.
#1 cropped to 5×4 to reduce the effect of polariser fall-off at wide angles… Besides the inch to the right was superfluous.
#2 Playing with dof and f/3.5
and #3 – Inspired by one of Thorstens shots from ages back. More of an abstract, with manual ‘focus’ and shallow dof – not sure how this one will go down, but I kinda like it.
Thanks
Gary
bigalguitarpickerParticipant#3 would look best among a panel of abstracts where it would fit into a theme probably. I’ve seen similar landscapes made from layers of tweed and wool. To illustrate what I’m saying, view #2 and #3 without looking at #1. They go together, but #1 doesn’t fit that theme. If #2 was horizontally flipped it might make a triptych hung as #2,#3, #2flipped.
5faytheParticipantHi Gary,
I like #1 best.
I think it’s that sky which is really nice.
On a picky note I think the people don’t add to the image.
They are kinda half in.I hope you had a nice time.
It’s a pity we didn’t get to meet up.
Maybe next time.Cheers.
John.
Mr.HParticipantThanks bigAl and John.
Good suggestion on the triptych BigAl. I had a bit of a play last night. Funnily enough #2 was already flipped so I can easily flip back! However I have another shot which I think will suit better. So I have the ‘bookends’ sorted but need to work the colours on the central shot (#3 above) so that it fits… maybe a step too far for me, but at least it got me working on a template for tritychs…. I’ll post if I ever get it looking right.
Thanks John also – yes had a good few days in the SSE. I didn’t get out as much as I would have liked, but should have another couple of shots to pop up when I get around to it. and yes, those people are a schoolboy error, they need cloning.
Cheers
Gary
